Hello Air Force
Travis and I decided to do his schooling throught the Air Force and he got sworn in today! He was sworn in as a 2nd Lieutenant and will be a Captain once he is out of Med School. So he is already ranked above people that enlist normally and they already have to salute him! :) The Air Force will be paying for his tuition and fees, plus giving us a monthly stipend to live on. We are doing a 3 year scholarship so all that is required of us once he is out of Med School is for him to work as a doctor on an Air Force base for 3 years but he will be getting paid for it. I think it will be a really fun adventure for us to be able to do this and meet all sorts of people. It will be fun to see what base we end up on for 3 years!

TWO snow days!!
I moved to Texas to get away from snow....but it seemed to follow me! Only difference is if it sticks at all here EVERYTHING shuts down!! Trav's school was cancelled yesterday and today...he might be a little stressed cause he has a test on Monday and has to learn everything on his own now...but I think it's been great that he's been forced to stay home with me for a couple days!! We've slept in, cooked dinner together, played games, AND he helped me clean! It feels like I'm actually married for once! :) It's just hard to believe that it was 80 degrees on Saturday and now we have this....but luckily it's supposed to be back in the 60's this weekend. Talk about bipolar weather!!
Snow day #2 and more cars stuck. You would think if you saw other cars stuck you wouldn't even try! Maybe since the ice is still here Trav's school will get cancelled again tomorrow and he'll be forced to spend another day with me.... :)
View outside our bedroom window on snow day #1
View outside our bedroom window looking the other way. That hill is our only way out and it is solid ice...so we are trapped at home for a few days until it melts. It has been pretty entertaining to watch car after car try to make it up the hill and get stuck like these ones or slide all the way back down.Snow day #2 and more cars stuck. Slowly getting there.....
To stay on my moms good side I had to put another prego picture up! 34 1/2 weeks down 5 1/2 more to go!! Please notice my favorite part of the whole picture is that I am wearing capri's in January because it was almost 80 degrees today!!!
My doctor had me get another sonogram this week. I have measured a week behind for a couple months but it stayed consistent so he didn't worry. But then I didn't grow any from my appointment on January 3 to my appointment on January 21 so that put me 3 weeks behind so he wanted me to get the sonogram done to make sure the baby is still growing properly. I got the sonogram done this past Wednesday (34 weeks along) and my stomach measured at about 31 1/2 weeks but the baby measured at 36 weeks!!!! The sonographer told me that I'm an oxy moron and that my stomach is pretty much 4 1/2 weeks to small for my baby...that explains why I can feel every little thing I guess!! He said my doctor might be moving my due date up because of the size of the baby. She is already around 6 lbs according to the sonographer!! I meet with my doctor on Monday and he'll give me the rest of the results...keeping my fingers crossed that I might get lucky and have her early!!

8 1/2 Weeks To Go!!!!!
I've made it to 31 weeks and I'm starting to see my doctor every two weeks now!!! I woke up yesterday morning and it really hit me that I'm going to have a baby here soon! So...I decided it's time to start buying things for her to come home to. Because I'm so excited about the things I have been getting I figured I would give you all a preview of what I have for her so far....
This is the crib I got....I happened to find it when it was on sale so I got it for less than the other crib I was looking at and I like this one tons more!
I really didn't want to do her room in all pink if I had to be going in there every day so I was looking for more purple colors to do it in...this is the nursery set I finally decided on!And last but not least, this is the stroller and car seat I got. The picture doesn't do it justice...the green and blue are very bright in person and it is very cute!
That's all I have for now! The crib and bedding will both be here next week so maybe once I get it all put together I will take some real pictures! Now all I need to find is a dresser to put all the clothes in!! That will be it for the big stuff.
Needless to say I am getting more and more anxious every day!! We still have lots to do and lots to buy before she gets here though!

Thanksgiving Break
A typical day for Travis is waking up at 6 or 6:30 (or 5 on a test day), getting ready and heading off to school, coming home for about a half hour around 5 for a quick dinner, and then studying at the library until 11 or 12 and coming to bed after I'm long gone sleeping. Really we only see each other for that short little time that he's home for dinner. Saturdays he will usually sleep in a little bit and he'll help me with anything I need..but then it's back to the library for a full day of studying. For all of October and November he had two tests a week....and these aren't just any tests...these are study every second of the day and night and pray you can pass tests. There isn't even time to celebrate a test being over because the second he was done with one he would start studying for the next one. Needless to say...we were ready for an extra long weekend! Sorry there are no pictures...I'm pretty bad about taking them.
We had our Thanksgiving dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I'm in a wives club at Trav's school (SAA) and they put the dinner together. They provided the turkey and ham and everyone else just brought the sides. It was SO good! I had been craving Thanksgiving dinner for a month and a half and it was well worth the wait! Now I just need to get to my next craving which is Christmas Eve dinner of honey baked ham, funeral potatoes, etc!
Wednesday Travis had school until noon but then the nice break started! He came home and fixed dinner and we actually got to sit down together and watch a movie that night! That never happens, I'm usually to exhausted by the time he gets home or we have other things to do. The baby seemed to know Travis was home cause she was especially active that night! Travis got to feel her all night long which he never gets to do since I'm usually asleep when he's home.
Thanksgiving day was just a relaxing one for us. It was actually a little cold here...I think it was in the 50's...so it felt a little bit more like Thanksgiving. We decided to go to Golden Corral and it was probably the best choice ever! We had steak, ham, chicken, pot roast, and of course turkey! Why stick to just turkey when you can get everything else with it??
Friday we went to the mall and walked around. There of course was SO many people there...but I loved it! The whole mall was playing Christmas music and they even had a band walking around with Santa playing Christmas music! And since it was back to being really warm here we enjoyed some smoothies. :) Travis made dinner again and then he went off with the missionaries. He goes out with them quite a bit when he has time to. One family they visited was hispanic and they were pretty impressed that Travis could pray for them in spanish. The dad of that family ended up coming to church with us on Sunday.
Saturday we spent the morning cleaning. Travis was good enough to scrub our shower for me since that's the one job I can't do anymore! And of course the BYU/Utah game was that day and Trav's life would end if he missed it...so we went to the house of a couple in our ward for the game. It was a perfect game with cookies and pizza...until BYU lost!
Really we didn't do anything exciting...but it was a nice breath of fresh air to actually spend time with each other and go to bed at the same time. Monday brought us back to reality and Trav has been back to studying late. He has a presentation that he is doing today, 3 tests next week, and 2 tests the next week. We sure have learned how relentless medical school is...but it will be so worth it in the end! It just makes us appreciate the little time we get to spend together even more! For now, we are just counting down the days until we are back in Utah for Christmas with family!!! Travis will have a whole TWO weeks off from school and studying!!! He has to shadow a doctor for a couple days while we are in Utah...but that won't be anything bad. I plan on taking lots of pictures while we are there so hopefully there will be something to show in the next post. :)
As for me, I just keep myself busy with things around the house and cooking this baby! She is still doing great and she lets me eat whatever I want now!....except spaghetti! I can't believe I'm already six months!! I'm getting more and more anxious to meet her....I can tell she already has quite the personality so it will be interesting to actually see it! When I get back from Utah I will start seeing my doctor every two weeks....it will start to go by even faster I'm sure!

Halloween Party!
Last night our friends in our ward had a Halloween party. It was SO much fun!! We didn't want to spend money on costumes...and I am no where near crafty enough to make some...so my sister in law Jenny gave us the idea to go as each other! Travis played my part a little to well. He had the pregnant belly, my basketball shorts (that I constantly wear around the house), my pink slippers, and he waddled around complaining of his back hurting and how hungry he was! I just wore black pants, his shirt and tie, and his doctor jacket and stethescope. To top it all off we even switched wedding rings since we have the same ring size (I'll never stop giving Travis a hard time for his small fingers)! We never thought we would win anything but sure enough we won best couple costume!
The place we had the party was SO awesome! A couple in our ward own this property called Buffalo Ranch. You drive in the through the gate and drive past a small lake, then after the lake is their HUGE house, then behind the house is another sort of guest house type of thing and that is where we had the party. The patio of this little guest house had a fireplace and cool lights everywhere. We had the party out on the patio cause you know...it's Texas and we can still party outside at night...it only got a little bit cold. THEN behind that little guest house is a little office building where they work from and behind that is a HUGE barn where they keep all their horses. They raise cutting horses and I think she said they just started raising reigning horses as well. Pretty much their property is so much fun and I wish it had been light enough outside to take pictures of! Some day I'll get my amazing home and ranch!
