Thanksgiving Break

A typical day for Travis is waking up at 6 or 6:30 (or 5 on a test day), getting ready and heading off to school, coming home for about a half hour around 5 for a quick dinner, and then studying at the library until 11 or 12 and coming to bed after I'm long gone sleeping. Really we only see each other for that short little time that he's home for dinner. Saturdays he will usually sleep in a little bit and he'll help me with anything I need..but then it's back to the library for a full day of studying. For all of October and November he had two tests a week....and these aren't just any tests...these are study every second of the day and night and pray you can pass tests. There isn't even time to celebrate a test being over because the second he was done with one he would start studying for the next one. Needless to say...we were ready for an extra long weekend! Sorry there are no pictures...I'm pretty bad about taking them.

We had our Thanksgiving dinner the Sunday before Thanksgiving. I'm in a wives club at Trav's school (SAA) and they put the dinner together. They provided the turkey and ham and everyone else just brought the sides. It was SO good! I had been craving Thanksgiving dinner for a month and a half and it was well worth the wait! Now I just need to get to my next craving which is Christmas Eve dinner of honey baked ham, funeral potatoes, etc!

Wednesday Travis had school until noon but then the nice break started! He came home and fixed dinner and we actually got to sit down together and watch a movie that night! That never happens, I'm usually to exhausted by the time he gets home or we have other things to do. The baby seemed to know Travis was home cause she was especially active that night! Travis got to feel her all night long which he never gets to do since I'm usually asleep when he's home.

Thanksgiving day was just a relaxing one for us. It was actually a little cold here...I think it was in the 50's...so it felt a little bit more like Thanksgiving. We decided to go to Golden Corral and it was probably the best choice ever! We had steak, ham, chicken, pot roast, and of course turkey! Why stick to just turkey when you can get everything else with it??

Friday we went to the mall and walked around. There of course was SO many people there...but I loved it! The whole mall was playing Christmas music and they even had a band walking around with Santa playing Christmas music! And since it was back to being really warm here we enjoyed some smoothies. :) Travis made dinner again and then he went off with the missionaries. He goes out with them quite a bit when he has time to. One family they visited was hispanic and they were pretty impressed that Travis could pray for them in spanish. The dad of that family ended up coming to church with us on Sunday.

Saturday we spent the morning cleaning. Travis was good enough to scrub our shower for me since that's the one job I can't do anymore! And of course the BYU/Utah game was that day and Trav's life would end if he missed it...so we went to the house of a couple in our ward for the game. It was a perfect game with cookies and pizza...until BYU lost!

Really we didn't do anything exciting...but it was a nice breath of fresh air to actually spend time with each other and go to bed at the same time. Monday brought us back to reality and Trav has been back to studying late. He has a presentation that he is doing today, 3 tests next week, and 2 tests the next week. We sure have learned how relentless medical school is...but it will be so worth it in the end! It just makes us appreciate the little time we get to spend together even more! For now, we are just counting down the days until we are back in Utah for Christmas with family!!! Travis will have a whole TWO weeks off from school and studying!!! He has to shadow a doctor for a couple days while we are in Utah...but that won't be anything bad. I plan on taking lots of pictures while we are there so hopefully there will be something to show in the next post. :)

As for me, I just keep myself busy with things around the house and cooking this baby! She is still doing great and she lets me eat whatever I want now!....except spaghetti! I can't believe I'm already six months!! I'm getting more and more anxious to meet her....I can tell she already has quite the personality so it will be interesting to actually see it! When I get back from Utah I will start seeing my doctor every two weeks....it will start to go by even faster I'm sure!
